Cloud PBX. You’ve heard the term before, but what does it mean?

Cloud refers to the internet and the fact that computer hardware is no longer your responsibility or concern. Your phone system needs are available through the internet.

PBX is a Private Branch Exchange. This refers to the private phone network within a company. The entire company shares a set of phone lines for making and receiving calls. If you put them together, you have a phone system that uses the internet as a server and provides access to callers anywhere.

Feature: There is no on-site server hardware

Benefits: The setup costs and maintenance costs are reduced, getting started takes a fraction of the time, and you save office space because of the lack of hardware.

Feature: The upgrades are instant and simultaneous

Benefits: There is no system downtime and no additional staffing is required.

Feature: Cloud PBX offers pay by the user

Benefits: You pay for what you need, not what you’ll grow into.

Feature: The cloud is more affordable

Benefits: The setup costs are less, you can use your current phones, and you can grow into your phone system needs and not have to pay for them before you need them

Feature: There is no single point of failure

Benefits: The chance of a hardware failure is reeducated with a Cloud PBX

Feature: Cloud PBX integrates easily with all other applications

Benefits: This allows access to the majority of applications, including AdWords, Bing ads and Office 365.

So, when thinking about a phone system that uses the internet as opposed to phone lines and big, clunky computers (servers), think of that internet-using, cloud based phone system as being modern. Cloud PBX uses the technology of today to provide customizable, less expensive, more user-friendly phone services to you, your business, your call center, and your customers.
