Success in tech is often tied to growth: more funding, bigger screens, increased functionality. Using the growth metric—and plenty of other indicators—Glendale Tech Week 2018 was a tremendous success. Indeed, growth was the watchword of this year’s Tech Week, which featured more pop-up events over more days than years past. Awareness and engagement seemed to be up as well, as attendees buzzed over Glendale Tech Week like it was the Crescenta Valley version of the latest Apple event or Tech Crunch Disrupt.
According to Tech Week reporting from Lila Seidman of the Glendale News-Press, Wednesday’s Career Fair had expanded from previous years, bringing in more companies and recruiters. At the Career Fair, Phonexa was able to meet with many bright tech minds. With such a deep bench of technology-minded local candidates, Phonexa remains bullish on continuing to find talent in the Glendale area—a must for any company on the grow.
The entire week brought about tremendous opportunities for Phonexa to mix with Glendale’s tech community and educate others about our All-in-One call tracking platform. At the Opening Day Tech Experience, Phonexa representatives discussed our company with visitors and our forecourt neighbors. Wednesday brought about the prosperous Career Fair and a buzzy early evening Social Hour attended by Phonexa staff and invited guests.
Thursday’s Closing Party and Awards was a celebratory finale to the week’s festivities. Taking place on the Americana’s picturesque lawn, the Closing Party afforded Phonexa the chance to speak one-on-one with Pitchfest competitors and Glendale city leaders. At the evening’s award ceremony, our own creative director Armen Karaoghlanian presented an award on behalf of the city to SnapMD. As the music and hors d’oeuvres lasted into the night, attending Phonexa employees continued to connect with local tech firms—no doubt planting innovation seeds to bear fruit in the future.
Perhaps what was most promising about this past Glendale Tech Week was not just the buzz surrounding the week’s events but excitement for what the future holds for Glendale’s tech sector and fast-rising companies like Phonexa.
On October 2nd, 2018, Phonexa was honored to receive a Commendation from the Mayor of Glendale for “unwavering support during the 3rd Annual Glendale Tech Week.”
