Phonexa, a B2B Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions provider, enthusiastically took to the streets this Saturday, April 27th, for the 2019 March for Babies Walk.
In the United States, 1 out of 10 babies is born prematurely (before 37 weeks of pregnancy). Premature birth and its complications are the leading cause of death of infants in the United States. Premature babies can also suffer from long-term health problems such as intellectual disabilities, chronic lung disease, cerebral palsy, blindness, and hearing loss.
There has been a rise in preterm birth rates in recent years. Supported by the March of Dimes, the March for Babies exists to raise funds to bring comfort and information to families with a baby born in newborn intensive care, while also aiding research to find the causes of premature birth and ways to prevent it.
Phonexa Cares—Phonexa’s community outreach program—set a fundraising goal to inspire and activate team members to become spirited advocates for the cause. Employees solicited donations in anticipation of the walk, and the company also contributed on behalf of the team, drawing the total of funds raised to $2,576. The efforts culminated with Phonexa Cares team members participating in the walk, which snaked its way through 3 miles of streets in downtown Los Angeles this past Saturday, April 27th.
