Phonexa CFO Mara Garcia was honored with the Comerica Bank Woman of Entrepreneurship award at the Los Angeles Lakers game on March 18 at the Crypto.com Arena.
The on-court recognition took place during halftime of the Lakers’ 138-122 victory against the Atlanta Hawks. Phonexa senior accountant Nareh Matevosyan accepted the award on Garcia’s behalf.
Comerica Bank and the Lakers have been partnered for the past 15 years as part of the NBA team’s community outreach program to recognize women in leadership for their contributions.
“I’m humbled to accept this award from Comerica Bank and the Los Angeles Lakers, especially during Women’s History Month,” said Garcia. “It’s an honor to be recognized among an inspiring group of strong and highly deserving women. This recognition is not just for me but also for my team. It’s a cliche but there is really no “I” in ‘team’ – we succeed through the help of our team and embracing collaboration and teamwork. I work with some of the most amazing talented women, and I’ve seen amazing things happen when we help lift each other up and really work together as a team.”
Garcia has been a driving force behind Phonexa growth ever since joining the performance marketing software company in 2020.
In recent years, Garcia has been named a Top 100 Accountant by the Los Angeles Business Journal and has received several CFO honors from the Los Angeles Times and San Fernando Valley Business Journal, among others.
